The use of the const keyword in ADMB is a legacy of the evolution of C++ during the early development of the AUTODIF library and other components of ADMB. The use of const should be rationalized throughout the code, particularly for access operators such as indexmin(), indexmax(), ... An eventual goal would be to eliminate the need for the ADUNCONST macro.
