Describe ADMB installation from source and binary distributions.
2 2

3
Describes the procedures to install ADMB from source for Windows and
4
Unix operating systems.
3
Requirements
4
============
5
ADMB has been tested and used on Windows and Linux operating systems in both 32
6
and 64 bit versions. A C/C++ compiler must be be installed on the local computer.
5 7

8
Below is a list of supported compilers:
9
 * GNU gcc version 4.7
10
 * Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 and 2012
11
 * MacOS XCode(with the Command Line Tools) version 4.6
12
 * Clang version 3.0
13
 * Intel C++ Compiler 11
14
 * Solaris Studio 12
15

16
If the compiler is not listed, try building from the source distribution. Email
17
users@admb-project.org for help.

Quick Start

===========

......
24 42
4. Install MinGW C++ compiler (32 Bit).
25 43

26 44
   C:\admb-trunk\> utilities\make --directory=utilities\mingw
45
   C:\admb-trunk\> utilities\mingw-install.bat
46
   If mingw is already installed, then just update it.
27 47

28 48
   Note: This will download approximately ~177M from 'sourceforge.net'.
29 49

......
31 51

32 52
   C:\admb-trunk\> set PATH=C:\admb-trunk\utilities\mingw\bin;%PATH%
33 53

54
   To avoid this just check if admb-cfg.txt has mingw path in the admb script.
55

34 56
5. Build libraries
35 57

36 58
   C:\admb-trunk\> utilities\make
......
38 60
   Note: Build times vary from machine to machine, but it usually
39 61
         takes approximately 15-25 minutes.
40 62

6. Build and run the simple example.
63
   After building libraries, build and run the simple example.
42 64

43 65
   C:\admb-trunk\> cd examples\admb\simple

104
   [~/admb-trunk/]$ make CXX=icpc
132
   [~/admb-trunk/]$ make icpc
105 133

5. Build and run the simple example.
134
   Use help to show available compiler targets.
107 135

136
   [~/admb-trunk/]$ make help
